Using BrainByte responsibly

These terms explain the expectations for accounts, learning materials, assessments, and competitions.

Updated

Your account

BrainByte is an academic learning platform operated by BrainByte project team. Use the account and role assigned to you. Keep your sign-in details private and report suspected account misuse to the instructor or administrator who invited you to BrainByte.

Your instructor or administrator manages invitations, permissions, and classroom access. Account access may be restricted when platform or course rules are violated.

Fair use and academic integrity

  • Follow your instructor’s rules for collaboration, outside tools, AI assistance, and attribution.
  • Do not impersonate another person, share assessment answers without permission, interfere with other users, or bypass access or monitoring controls.
  • Do not submit malicious code intended to attack the platform, its execution service, or another system.
  • Use the platform within its request and execution limits.

Materials and AI output

Upload material only when you have permission to use and share it for the intended class or activity. Your original work remains yours; submitting or uploading it allows BrainByte to store, evaluate, and display it to the people authorized for that activity.

AI suggestions and generated questions can contain errors. Instructors must review generated activities before publishing them. Students should follow their instructor’s rules for any AI assistance.

Assessment and competition rules

Activity schedules, permitted attempts, assigned problems, scoring, team rules, and monitoring requirements are set by the instructor or organizer. Review those rules before starting.

The server controls eligibility and deadlines. A monitoring warning limit may close an attempt. Monitoring flags are signals for review and are not, by themselves, proof of misconduct. Report scoring or monitoring concerns to your instructor or organizer.

Service interruptions and changes

BrainByte depends on network connectivity and external services. Maintenance, outages, or grading delays can affect access. If a technical issue affects an assessment, record the activity and time and contact your instructor promptly.

These terms may be updated as the platform changes. The date on this page identifies this version. Read the Privacy notice for information about data handling, and visit Help & contact for support.
